Tayoga Oktoberfest!

Tayoga Oktoberfest is truly one of my favorite events that I host every year! It takes place at my favorite yoga studio, Elevate Community Yoga, where we drink beer while we flow! Not just any beer, Oktoberfest beer since it is that time of year (so yummy). To top it all off, we hang around after and eat bratwurst, bbq'd by the amazing owners of Elevate, and enjoy each other's company. If you've never been, I highly recommend giving it a try. If you have been, you know you want to come back! Hope to see you on Saturday, friends!  Cheers and Namas(tay). Get your tickets here = Tayoga Oktoberfest Tickets

Tayoga Logo Drawings

The Tayoga logo has been drawn quite a few times over the last 8 years. I thought I would share some of the drawings. Let me know which one is your favorite! Picture 1: Drawings by my 3 nieces. In order from top to bottom: Kaylin, Emily, and Olivia. These are pretty old now. I should have them do it again to see the difference! Picture 2: A drawing by my old co-worker who now lives in Maine. This is still up at my desk at work. She also made me a Tayoga "Burn Book" which is actually a notebook I can write songs for my playlists in. It's orange...SHOCKING!   Picture 3: A drawing by the oldest daughter of our previous neighbors. She surprised me with this and I cherish it. It is still up on our refrigerator.

Big Changes

Hello all! The hubby got everything working on my website again so I will be back at it with posts. I hope you're as excited as I am! I titled this post "Big Changes" because we've had a few of those since my last post. The most recent big change was WE MOVED! I am so excited to say that we live closer to downtown and to school. The house is old, but wonderful and we are all thrilled.  Last year we added another baby boy to the Huff crew. Hamilton Felix is the perfect addition to complete our family. I am definitely outnumbered and loving it!  Since having Hamilton, I have stopped my Kids yoga at Dragonfly but have added Yoga Storytime once a month at Bookish. Bookish is an adorable bookstore right across the shopping center from Elevate Community Yoga where I have been teaching the Friday morning Vinyasa class for the past 8 YEARS! Where does the time go? My annual Oktoberfest at Elevate is approaching. It will be Saturday, October 3rd at 11am. If you like drinking b...

I Broke My Pinky Toe

Well... I broke my left pinky toe on Thursday. Sigh... I wish I could say I was practicing ballet or rock climbing, or something else cool, but I wasn't. I stubbed it on my garbage can. Seriously? I was pretty upset so Edison held up 3 fingers and told me, "Mama take 3 deep breaths." I love that kid.  I still taught my Vinyasa class the next day. I sat in a folding chair and told everyone what to do. Some people thought that meant the class would be easier. Muahahaha! Incorrect!  Anyway, sending good vibes for a great week and healthy toes! Watch out for that garbage can (or bed frame) they can sneak up on you! Namas(tay). P.s. What do you think of my new shoe? Stylish right?

Tayoga on the Marquee

My birthday present from Andrew this year was a night out with friends. This included a private movie at The Jewel followed by cocktails at Intermission in downtown Modesto. It was an absolute blast and a great excuse to get all dressed up. My yoga pants were swapped out for a black dress! A definite highlight of the evening was seeing "Tayoga" up on The State Theater marquee. It looked pretty darn good up there if I do say so myself!  Have a lovely day, friends. Namas(tay).

Modesto Famous

My goal for Tayoga is to become Modesto famous. Quite a few years ago I taught a Classic Rock yoga class. After I taught the class I went to Fun Sport Bike and bought a new bike. While I was there, I mentioned I had just taught a Classic Rock yoga class and the gal said, "You're Tayoga?" Oh man that made my day!  To help achieve this fame I decided to become a sponsor for Prospect Theater Project's annual fundraiser. Andrew and I love this little theater. If you've never been I highly recommend checking it out ( Prospect Theater Project ). When I saw my logo on the fundraising email I got so excited! A step in the right direction. Here's to many more steps in the right direction even if they are baby steps.  Happy Monday, my friends! Namas(tay).

Happy Birthday To Me!

For my birthday this year I decided to teach a heated Vinyasa class at my favorite studio, Elevate Community Yoga. The new owner, Cat Ramer, provided funfetti cupcakes and mimosas afterwards. These lovely ladies showed up and made my day. It was a great start to my birthday season!  I hope you all are well! Cheers and Namas(tay)!
